She was a sports reporter for some of the largest outlets in the United States. She covered football, basketball and Grand Slam Tennis for The Washington Post. Nichols began her career at ESPN from 2004. She spent 9 years at the network, earning 2 Emmy Awards. She also reported for TBS covering baseball and golf broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. The only woman to have been chosen from more than two hundred nominees in the long history of the award.
